Located in the heart of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley, Mission Hill Family Estate is a family-owned winery renown for producing distinctive, internationally acclaimed wines in a dramatic setting that celebrates wine, food and the arts.
Proprietor Anthony von Mandl and Winemaker John Simes cultivate our twenty-four vineyard estates throughout the Valley’s five growing regions. Investments in technology, irrigation systems, frost protection and weather stations, along with extensive canopy management, encourages the production of exquisite fruit. |
Experience the wines for yourself at home
Oculus and the Legacy Series, including Quatrain, Compendium and Perpetua, are the culmination of 25 years of crafting fine wine. Rare and limited they receive careful handling at every stage of grape cultivation, harvest and winemaking. The grapes are chosen from select blocks and rows within our estates. They are hand harvested and hand sorted and then gravity fed to small fermentation vessels and barrel aged in tiny lots to allow for ultimate selectivity. These boutique wines are crafted in small lots under 1,000 cases each. Oculus, Quatrain and Compendium should be decanted prior to serving, and Perpetua is best enjoyed no colder than 12°C. Meticulously selected, the SLC wines are also made from 100% winery owned vineyard estate fruit, are age-worthy and balanced with layers of complexity, which will develop with further cellaring. The Reserve tier wines are similarly sourced from our own estates, and are elegant wines, crafted for enjoyment upon release though are also suitable for aging. |

John Simes, Mission Hill Family Estate's chief winemaker, has carefully crafted the second vintage of this exquisite wine. The grapes were selected from the best blocks within our estates in Oliver and Osoyoos. They were hand harvested, hand sorted, and fermented in small lots in French oak fermenters, using both punch down and pump over. The wine was aged in a selection of 100% French oak barrels for 15 months.
The second vintage of Quatrain exhibits a ripe, juicy core of black cherry and blackberry fruit that's supple and polished, with hints of exotic spices, sage and coffee mocha. The ultra-fine tannins are beautifully in balance with the equally impressive purity of fruit and style in this vintage.

Naturally frozen on the vine, grapes destined for Icewine production are painstakingly hand harvested at temperatures of -8°C or colder. As the frozen grapes are pressed, only a few precious drops of concentrated juice are obtained. At Mission Hill Family Estate, Icewine isn’t made every year. We wait for Mother Nature’s blessing. Under the watchful eye of winemaker John Simes, the grapes are harvested and turned into a delicately balanced, aromatic wine. Technically challenging, time consuming and very risky, Icewine is truly an art and is considered to be a delicacy.
This Riesling Icewine is lush and decadent yet vibrant and exciting, with the hallmark, sweet-tart character of great Riesling Icewine. The wine offers a wonderful bouquet and flavours of citrus, green apple, guava and praline with mouthwatering persistence and length.
